VISAKHAPATNAM, ANDHRA PRADESH TO HAVE NEW RAILWAY ZONE ANNOUNCED IN THIS BUDGET.

The decades of Dream is turning into reality this year. The govt of India informed the confirmation of Visakhapatnam as a new railway zone. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conveyed this to district collectors in a meeting and said that this will be announced officially in the railway budget 2015 in a month.

People of Visakhapatnam have been fighting for a special railway zone for decades as Visakhapatnam station has always been neglected inspite of its high share in revenue to which ever railway zone it belongs to for the high good handling activity from port and the iron ore mines in the region. Trains were bypassed from Duvvada, which is a 25 kms away from the city with no facilities to hold the traffic of vizag travelling on trains. The other issue which always made it hot was every train being sanctioned to Vizag were extended to Bhubaneshwar decreasing the number of seats available for passengers from Vizag.

Every member of Parliament has Railway Zone for Vizag as one of their Election Promises. The AP reorganization bill has a new railway zone promised for Andhra Pradesh, but the location was finalized by the government of Andhra Pradesh as Visakhapatnam in respect to the long term demand for a Special Railway Zone to Visakhapatnam. The new railway zone will have the divisions of Andhra Pradesh including the Andhra Pradesh Capital’s largest railway junction of south India Vijayawada Junction and the No.1 Pilgrim Destination of India Tirupati making it one of the profitable railway zones also bring the most awaited loop track to Visakahapatnam which will decrease the amount of time that trains have to spend at the railway station for the change of engine as the track further the railways station ends at the Visakhapatnam Port.
