An economy restaurant that offers one of the best foods in the city for the most reasonable price with a warm service and a very friendly owner.

Southie recommendations: Too many to pick from, lets stick with Veg noodles & mixed veg curry, Veg fried rice with paneer butter masala, , Pulka and mix veg curry, Chicken fried rice/noodles with Chicken kurma.

What?
Contrary to its name its not a dedicated idly point. They serve conventional Andhra breakfast with 63 kinds of Dosas. Diverse combinations and on top of all the delectable food makes this place a fine eat out spot.

Southie recommendations: Ulavacharu dosa, masala dosa, Gaari & Sambar, Tea.
S.S.S IDLY (TRIPLE S IDLY)

Pinnamaneni Polyclinic road, beside Nalanda school
What?
Affectionately called with names like “The Idly Hut” & “Idly Paaka”. They are famous for serving idlys , idlys and more delicious idly. Well, the addiction you develop is not just for the idlys though, its the chutney that makes you visit again.
Budget: 12 rupees/idly.
Southie Recommendation: Come onnnn!! It Idly! That simple. Dont forget to get yourselves a few extra ghee packets though.
BRINDAVAN COLONY CHAT CORNER.
Where?
Adjacent road of chandana grand at bandar road that enters Brindavan colony.
What?
This chat corner made it a few times on the news papers and TV. Wonder why? Go find it out yourself.

Southie recommendations: Simple. Taste every damn thing they serve. Pay your bill and thank the writer ?

GOOD MORNING FAST FOOD PLACE.
Where?
There are 3 of them, one in Kasturibai pet, the other located opposite Siddhartha degree college, last one at Nara Chandra babu colony near benz circle. (Well, that’s the colony named after Chief Minister).
What?
The Good Mornings are one the busiest fast food corners in Vijayawada during the morning times. Despite having plenty of customers they never let congested environment affect the quality of their food or the packing.
Budget: 40 – 80 rupees/person.
Southie recommendations: Paneer dosa (The best you can find in Vijayawada), Ravva dosa.
MUNISWAMI HOTEL (GOWRI SHANKAR)
Where?
Near benz circle Hanuman temple.
What?
They serve the best night time Biryani and meals. You will never sleep hungry thanks to these awesome people.

SHIVA PULKA POINT.
Where?
Near Benz circle, towards
What?
At first glance they look like any other pulka point, what makes them unique is that they serve 3 veg , 3 non veg standard curries with 2 more “Special curries” that vary everyday which they cook right right before you. And don’t forget to notice the “AAIL LESS PHOOD” tag. It is one of the busiest pulka corners in the the city with loyal DAILY CUSTOMERS.
Budget: 30 to 120 rupees/ person.
Southie recommendations:They make some good mushroom, chana butter masala and kaaju capsicum curries.
TASTE ON WHEELS.
Where?
Pinnamaneni Polyteclinic Road, opposite Myneni hotel.
What?
Literally Taste on wheels, They are open from 4 PM to 9 PM. Just stand near the myneni hotel and one the two crowded food points you find in front of you is this one. The other one is Shiva Pulka point.
Budget: 45 to 150 rupees/person
Southie recommendations: Try the chicken wings and noodles. They are awesome.

What?
They serve some of the best ice creams and traditional North Indian and Indo-Chinese fast food.

Southie recommendations: Jain noodles, Every ice cream they serve is good, But I prefer the Titanic.

R.R.DURBAR
Where?
V.P.S school road, opposite to chevy showroom
What?
Chicken, Chicken, Chicken…… everything made from chicken. A chicken lovers paradise, Sorry Vegetarians. They easily serve some 80 varieties of chicken dishes be it curries or biryani or kababs or other starters. The ambiance of the place perfectly reflects the name.
Budget: 300 – 350 rupees/person.
Southie recommendations: Gongura Chicken curry , Ulavachaaru biryani and of course the Naatu kodi biryani.
RED BAWARCHI.
Where?
Eluru Road, you’ll find it on your left when you are on way to Eluru road Anjaneya Swamy temple.
What?
Its a very young restaurant, but this doesn’t make it any inferior to the other famous food points. They have a really good service and food. Above all, they serve the real grilled chicken in Vijayawada and one of the two food points to serve grilled chicken.
Budget: 150 to 300 rupees/person.
Southie recommendations:
Grilled chicken, butter naan, chaana masala and tandoori chicken.
CROSS ROADS.

Moghalrajpuram.
What?
They are a subsidiary restaurant of the sweet magic group. They emerged as a family restaurant and then transitioned into a food complex with a curry point, restaurant and a function hall in it. Competing with sweet magic in quality and service and in times out doing them.
Budget: 200 to 300 rupees/person.
Southie recommendations: Hard to pic as they have a vast menu, but my favorites are the prawn anf fish startes, telugu vegetarian curries (the bendakai fry especially).
KINGDOM CHAT.

What?
Literally Kingdom of chat. They serve one of the best North Indian fast food in Vijayawada.

Southie recommendations: Veg manchuria, Pav Baji and Chana Chat.
RAMAYYA MESS.
Where?

One located in nakkala road, the other on bandar road opposite eenadu office.
What?
Ramayya mess is one of the oldest messes in vijayawada which has been famous for serving their trademark Andhra meals from a 4 decades time. A vegetarian heaven.

Southie recommendations:
Nothing to recommend, they serve your meal in a banana leaf with hell lot of Andhra curries, a few sweets, paapads, chips, puri/chapathi etc. Complete it and ask for a refill of what you liked.
SHAHANA’S JUICE POINT.

Opposite to Siddhartha degree college.
What?
The busiest juice corners (Maybe the most busiest one).
People love this juice corner for 4 reasons. Quality, Taste, fast Service and Sam.
Who is Sam?? The guy who makes the juice.

Southie recommendations: They are the best at what they do, but if you want me to pick one, i will go for the special dry-fruit shake. Say Hi to Sam bro from our side ?

Rasoi offers one of the best ulavacharu biryani in vijayawada. Apart from that they have many other vegetarian & non vegetarian options.

One on Bandar road near Brindavan colony, One in Patamata, the other in one town bridge road.
What?
Looking for the picture of food? Well, Sweet magic is more than just food, it reflects the traditional Telugu culture in everything they do, be it the food, the ambiance, the service….. everything. They serve one of the best biryani, best andhra taali, Best sweets, and decent fast foods aaaand soooo oooooon!!

Southie recommendations: Naatu kodi koora and Andhra meals.

OneTown, behind the railway station.
What?
Established in 1955, it is one of the first and most reputed Restaurants in Vijayawada. They make some good kababs, biryani and naan etc. But what they are famous for is the unconventional lassi they make. Its really addictive. Try it out.
Budget: 20 – 250 rupees/person.
Southie recommendations: Lassi, Lassi, Lassi & Lassi. Nothing comes before this!!!
KITKAT BAKERY
Where?
Gayatri nagar road, Go to Myneni hotel or Ramesh Hospital, you can easily find your eay to the bakery.
What?
You’ll be surpirsed to know that one of the best bakeries in Vijayawada is a small 8 feet * 6 feet shop operated by an old couple and serves just two products. Silently located in gayatri nagar away from all the noisy hangouts places and the crowded bandar road, They’ve been serving their trademark masala burgers & bread omlette from the past 2.5 decades and are still going strong despite of the competition from many new comers.
Budget: 30 to 180 rupees/person (Because you might not stop eating just one)
Southie Recommendations: If its the bread omlette, ask aunty to make for you. If you came for the burger, Uncle is good at it than aunty. Simple as that.
BABAI HOTEL
Where?
Gandhi Nagar, Vijayawada
What?
Established in 1942 by Patruni Shyama Murthi, it is the oldest breakfast place in Vijayawada. Mr.Murthy was popular by the name “Babai” and the name for this hotel stuck. It was probably the most popularly visited place by bigwigs from the film industry like NTR, ANR, Savitri and a number of top politicians.
They offer terrifically delicious Dosa, Gaari, Idly & Upma with equally tasty & spicy powders topped with ghee erved in banana leaf.
Budget: 60 to 100 rupees/person.
Southie recommendations:
Idly with Ghee & Karam powder, Upma dosa with black kaaram, Idly with ghee & kaaram and Ravva dosa.
