EAST GODAVARI IS NOW GOING TO BE A TOURISM HUB

East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh is well known for its greenery and natural beauty. Keeping in tune with that fact, that district is now going to be turned into a major Tourism Hub by the district administration.

The District collector H. Arun Kumar said, “71 spots have been identified all around the district that could be potential tourist spots and all the necessary infrastructure is going to be set up soon in these spots.”

In a review meeting with the officials of tourism department, he stated that an action plan is being made to develop the tourism sector in the district and the officials should take all the necessary steps to operate tourism boats in the Coringa sacntuary-Hope Island-Kakinada tourist circuit.

 

He suggested that the officials have to start dredging in the river for cruising in the proposed circuit and also called for raising of trees in a 90-acre area on Hope Island. Development works are being taken up in the Buddhist spot Adurru with a budget of Rs.1.20 crore. The house boats shall be run to the villages of Appanapalli and Pasarlapudi that come under Konaseema.

 

The collector spoke about the several safety measures that are being taken up for the tourist launches operating between Rajahmundry and Papikondalu. The collector also urged that the Department of Rural water supply has to take up construction of Toilets at the Rampa waterfalls for the convenience of tourists.
