CHECK OUT THE MEASURES TAKEN UP BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR GANESH NIMAJJAN IN HYDERABAD

With the iconic Ganesh idol immersion happening now, the city of Hyderabad now looks like a majestic fortress ahead of the procession and the immersion. Police Commissioner for Hyderabad city Mr. M Mahender Reddy briefed the media on the security measures for the annual procession. To reduce the work load on the police personnel, they have been allotted different shifts to perform their duties. The main procession starts from Keshavagiri and passes through Alia-bad, Nagulchinta, Charminar, Madina, Afzalgunj, MJ Market, Abids, Basheerbagh, Liberty, Tank Bund, NTR Marg. This year, the Khairatabad Ganesh is expected to be the first idol to be immersed at Tank Bund. This mega idol used to bring up the tail end every year.

SECURITY MEASURES:

 

At least 8,722 police personnel from different districts of Telangana, and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh have been stationed in the city to keep things smooth during the idol immersion.
30,000 police personnel are on guard in Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
310 hypersensitive places and 605 sensitive places have been identified in the city.
23 bomb disposal teams are in place.

Anti-sabotage teams to use 23 sniffer dogs for security purposes.

Hasmathpet Tank: Vehicles carrying idols from Bowenpally and other colonies of Secunderabad must enter Hasmathpet Tank via Anjaiahnagar. After immersion, vehicles must exit towards Old Bowenpally, Mosque Road and Harijanbasthi

IDL Tank Vehicles with idols from Godrej or from JNTU will converge at IDL Junction and proceed towards the Tank and exit towards Rainbow Vista

East Zone

Saroornagar Tank: Vehicles carrying idols as well as processions will ply on one way direction – idols coming from Hayathnagar, LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Uppal, Saroornagar will be allowed to come to Saroornagar Tank on National Highway No 65 (old NH 9) via LB Nagar, Kothapet, Dilsukhnagar, Venkatadri Theatre take left turn at Gaddinnaram crossroad, Shiva Ganga theatre, Sankeshwar Bazar Junction and take turn towards Saroornagar Tank. After immersion, vehicles should proceed towards Karmanghat Road or Saroornagar Post office road

Vehicles from Hyderabad should take right turn at Konark Diagnostic centre, pass through Shiva Ganga Theatre and enter Saroornagar Tank. After immersing the idols, they should exit on Karmanghat Road or Saroornagar Post Office Road

Vehicles from Saidabad, Nagarjunasagar Road will be diverted towards Singareni Colony Road and enter Saroornagar Tank via Sankeshwar Bazar. After immersing the idols, they should exit either on Karmanghat Road or Saroornagar Post office Road

Keeping this aside, it is a general holiday on Thursday in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts on account of immersion of Ganesh idols. All the government offices, schools and colleges in Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Rangareddy will remain closed on Thursday. Consequently, 12th of November which is the second Saturday, shall be observed as a working day for all the government offices, schools and colleges in Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Rangareddy districts on account of the general holiday declared on 15th September. Orders to this effect were issued by the General Administration Department on Wednesday.
