THE CAPITAL CITY OF AP TO GET METRO RAIL IN 4 YEARS

There has been another prominent development in the already fast progress of the AP Government. A key deal has been cracked towards faster completion of the grand Vijayawada Metro Rail project recently. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) which acted as the advisory agency will now be the Executive agency for this project. On this account, MD for Amaravathi Metro Rail Corporation (AMRC) N.P. Ramakrishna Reddy signed the contract with MD for DMRC, Mangusingh.

According to this contract, DMRC has to take all kinds of necessary steps to complete this project within 4 years. From tendering process to constructions and the basic amenities, the whole responsibility is to be taken over by the DMRC. MD for AMRC, Ramakrishna Reddy said, “CM Chandrababu Naidu suggested that the first phase of the project has to be completed by 2018 and thus the government decided to pass this over to the able hands of DMRC which has significant amount of experience in handling this type of mega metro projects. Having handling 14 metro rail projects so far, the DMRC has already made a detailed report along with the designs”

He also said that the authorities are approaching international companies for loans since there has been no response from Japan international corporation company that has promised to sponsor this project in the past. Thus the government has decided to terminate the deal with the Japanese company and move ahead in this process for this mega project that will cost Rs. 3,500-4,000 crore
