“With a budget of Rs. 300 crore, a Sports City is soon going to be set up in Vizag and the Government is taking all the necessary steps for it”, said Ganta Srinivasa Rao, HRD Minister for AP. The minister launched the logo for the national table tennis ranking competitions in Vizag recently and on that occasion, he said that the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) came forward to offer 250 acres of land for the Sports City.
The minister also said that he will be in talks with the CMD of RINL soon and discuss the further actions for the Sports City. With the VUDA arranging the necessary funds for this venture, it could get Vizag to host the national level sports competitions, making the city a prominent place on the Indian map.
This surely is going to be a news to rejoice for, for the sport enthusiasts in the state.
